Before you begin the construction of a new home please consider the following:

Southern orientation of the house on the lot

East-West Solar Analysis of daylight probability

Green Intelligent Design gracefully integrated with nature

Energy production and use as key element of design

Use of non-carbon-fuel technologies

Using the technology for energy independence

Combined Active and Passive solar design elements

Non toxic natural construction materials

“Tight” Construction including insulated basement walls

Controlled selection of space and usage (not over-built)

Energy Efficiency (Energy Star Appliances)

Water efficient fixtures (Toilets, showers, sinks)

Natural Landscaping (Eliminating the need of chemical controls)

Consideration of limited or no use of plastics (especially PVC)

Limited use of asphalt

Create a comfortable, natural, healthy environment

Effect of a more secure, comfortable and healthy living

THE GOAL: Houses that will forever reward their owners and future generations with structural security and fuel-free comfort. No longer will precious oil or electricity be needed to heat and cool our homes.

Please remember even if all of the above considerations can not be accomplished, to do as many as possible. Building today with tomorrow in mind!!
